As I highlighted earlier, it all begins with mindset. A few уеаrѕ bасk, I rеаd thе bооk “Thе 4 Hour Workweek” by Tim Ferriss after my friend recommended it. I love reading books.  I love reading business books. But up until that moment I never expected a business book to change my life, and none had. What a life changer this was.

So many people get in this cycle of working more thinking they have to work more, earn more, have a better life etc. So they end up forever at their jobs, working more and more, right? Like I could do all sorts of good things if only I had a million dollars. Time was money, you get money from your job, money was all I needed and that’s all there was to it.

However this book highlights that you can actually work LESS and create more time freedom for yourself and be HAPPIER and successful. Talk about a paradigm shift, this blew my mind.

Like achieving success in anything in life, this book isn’t about cheating the system. It’s about real work and working smarter for yourself. You see, when you quit working for others and work for yourself, the success you can create and build is exciting. It all starts with the right mindset, and requires the right tools, and the right training.

The book contains so many great strategies and advice for working for yourself.  This plus many great life hacks and mindset shifts makes you think you’ve been doing life wrong for far too long. People don’t want to toil beneath fluorescent lights, hearing only rattle of keyboards and office politics.  People want to master a craft, enjoy time with their children growing up, get a natural tan and visit Paris. People want to be free, and they fear that at the end of the day and even if they make it to the end of their working life, they aren’t free.

Let me explain why I mention this book in this post. It’s because through this book I was introduced to the New Rich in contrast to the Deferrers. Let’s begin with Tim Ferriss definition of the New Rich:

“The New Rich (NR) are those who abandon the deferred-life plan and create luxury lifestyles in the present using the currency of the New Rich: time and mobility.” – Tim Ferriss

The New Rich are a subculture characterized by mobility and financial freedom, the New Rich aren’t limited by their work, they are in control of their time and have freedom.
